I have always believed that cake is more than just a dessert - It's art, craft, joy and storytelling.
After a decade in the wedding industry ( and a whole bunch of 5* reviews from my incredible couples) I am heading back to my Modelmaking roots and going back to making one of a kind bespoke creations which is how I started this whole cake chapter of my life nearly 15 years ago.
I love the diversity of 3D and illusion cakes and I can't wait to see what projects are next.

My Background
I have always had an artistic background, from an art based college diploma to a Modelmaking degree at university making props for tv and film.
My love of cake making happened fairly organically when I realised being a Modelmaker wasn't for me and started making cakes for friends and family.
I made all kinds of cakes including giant chocolate bars, fish, 3 tier character cakes and hand painted creations.
Being a Modelmaker had its advantages. I am a massive perfectionist and have worked hard over the last 10+ years to hone my craft and am always learning new techniques.
My wedding cakes in recent years have focused heavily on sustainability and painted showstoppers. But although that's not the path for me now, I will be using all those high end techniques on my bespoke celebration cakes.
So making things like bagels and burgers out of cake and elaborate sugar model designs is going to to be a huge fusion of my past cake and degree knowledge!

We create some beautiful produce here in the UK and I will champion it whenever I can!

That you didn't ask to know, but i'm going to tell you anyway!
. I live with my crazy talented and equally creative husband, super active 5 year old daughter and our mad long haired cat.
. I love growing veg! Im not fantastic at it and some don't make it, but I am loving learning. I have my own allotment which I adore in the Dorset countryside.
. I flipping love foraging. Walking anywhere takes forever as I stop to find edibles constantly.
. I adore living near the coast! Being by the sea is amazing and Cornwall and Swanage are my favourite places!
. Our travel destinations are heavily influenced by the food. Cooking is my passion and eating is an even bigger one!
. I have an irrational fear of the underside of boats. It's weird I know!
. We have an unhealthy number of modes of transport. We have a Campervan, a 1965 Morris Minor, a van project I am attempting to turn into our holiday on wheels and the husband is building a series 3 Landrover
